He does this by creating a space for people to do their best thinking, access their creativity, leverage diversity and taking action in ways they never thought possible.

Burgert is one of 28 certified Applied Improvisation practitioners in the world. Applied Improvisation is the practise of applying improvisation skills to situations in business and organisational life. It loses its connection to theatre performance and forges a new relationship with work performance. To provide an even more solid foundation for this practise Burgert grounds the methodology in the latest research in Neuroscience.
Burgert is the Co-founder of Playing Mantis Coaching and Facilitation Development. Playing Mantis equips coaches and facilitators in the use of Strategic Narrative Embodiment Techniques (SNETs). This methodology that he co-developed with his sister Petro Janse Van Vuuren Phd is rooted in Applied Theatre and Drama Therapy.
Burgert is also an improvisational theatre actor and teacher. He studied improvisational theatre at the IO theatre in Chicago USA and is part of the longest running Afrikaans improve comedy group Lagnes.
Last but not least, Burgert is a family man. He is married to the beautiful, courageous and creative Lucille, mother of their twin daughters, Lila and Khari, and their son, Joah.
